This surge in usage underscores the growing demand for this seamless and convenient payment method, which is now available to commuters on HCMC Metro Line 1. Globally, tap-to-pay transactions make up more than 80% of Visa’s face-to-face payments[3]. In Vietnam, the shift to contactless payments is particularly notable, with over 76% of face-to-face transactions made using Visa cards being contactless by February 2025[4]. This growing trend will help improve travel efficiency, offering significant benefits not just to commuters, but also to operations across transit networks.
