London Luton Airport is urging travelers to double-check their passports before flying to EU countries. The airport’s warning, shared on social media, states that British holidaymakers must ensure their passports meet the new post-Brexit requirements to avoid being denied entry.
The rules are simple but critical: British citizens need at least three months’ validity remaining on their passports when traveling to any EU country. Additionally, if your passport is 10 years old or more at the time of entry, it could also be rejected, regardless of the validity period. This applies whether you’re flying from Luton or any other airport across the UK.

The reason for these strict rules is Brexit, which altered travel agreements between the UK and EU. Before Brexit, UK passports were subject to different conditions when traveling to EU countries. However, the shift in regulations has led to this adjustment in passport rules.
