Riyadh Air has announced the appointment of Bird Travels as its exclusive distribution and sales representative in India, marking a significant step in its expansion strategy.
Tony Douglas, CEO of Riyadh Air, is currently heading a delegation to India to engage in high-level discussions aimed at forging strategic alliances in this vital market.
Leveraging its vast network and deep expertise in India’s travel sector, Bird Travels will be instrumental in strengthening Riyadh Air’s presence, boosting brand recognition, and driving demand for the airline’s services across the country.

The Saudi Tourism Authority is set to attract 7.5 million Indian visitors annually by the end of the decade. Data reveals that Indian travel to Saudi Arabia surged by 50% in 2023, surpassing 1.5 million, following several targeted initiatives.
The relationship between Saudi Arabia and India is rooted in long-standing economic and cultural ties, dating back centuries. Diplomatic relations between the two nations were formalized in 1947.
Riyadh Air, a pivotal component of Saudi Arabia’s National Transport and Logistics Strategy, is also central to realizing Vision 2030. It plays an instrumental role in the country’s broader economic diversification and job creation objectives. By 2030, Riyadh Air plans to operate flights to over 100 destinations, boosting Saudi Arabia’s non-oil GDP by $20 billion, while creating more than 200,000 jobs both locally and globally.
