With rapid industrialisation, manufacturing giants and multinational corporations setting foot in Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar bringing in an influx of professionals, executives and diplomats from across the globe, the twin cities seem to have secured its place among the most sought-after markets for hospitality majors.Sources privy to the development confirmed that Hyatt Hotels Corporation, an American hospitality major, is likely to sign and manage three new properties here. Interestingly, each of these are in proximity to industrial and business clusters – Sanand, Changodar and Gandhinagar-Mahudi Road.The said properties are among the eight new hotels set to bring a luxurious transformation to the twin cities of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. Other prominent brands like St Regis and JW Marriott are also expected to set foot here.An email query sent to Hyatt Hotels Corporation went unanswered. The brand is likely to launch another property in Gujarat International Finance-Tec (GIFT) City, Gandhinagar, sources privy to the development said.“With two big-ticket investments in semiconductor manufacturing and an already thriving automobile and engineering goods industry in Sanand, the region is bound to get more investments. Setting up a hotel in the region will certainly be a plus, give n the incre ased commuting time from Ahmedabad to Sanand and Changodar. Industrial development in and around Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, coupled with setting up of GIFT City and the proposed Olympics bid of India, is drawing attention of hospitality majors to the twin cities,” said Narendra Somani, president, Hotels and Restaurants’ Association (HRA) – Gujarat.Somani also explained how Mahudi-Gandhinagar Road is also witnessing a development in the hospitality sector on the lines of wellness properties.Hospitality companies such as Marriott International, ITC Hotels Group, Hilton Hotels and Resorts, Indian Hotels Company Limited, Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG), The Leela Palaces, Hotels & Resorts, Accor Hotels among others, already have a thriving presence in Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar.
