This milestone launch marks the first City Express by Marriott property in the country and signals the brand’s ambitious expansion across North America.
As part of Marriott’s strategic move into the affordable midscale category, City Express by Marriott aims to provide an effortless and comfortable stay experience for business and leisure travelers alike. The 83-room property in Duluth, conveniently located just 30 minutes from downtown Atlanta, is designed to offer modern accommodations, including plush beds, high-speed internet, complimentary breakfast, and round-the-clock convenience markets. Additionally, guests will benefit from pet-friendly policies and on-site fitness facilities, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable stay.
Rapid Expansion Planned for 2025
Building on the momentum of this launch, Marriott has confirmed its aggressive expansion plans for City Express by Marriott across the U.S. and Canada. With over 45 signed agreements already in place, more than a dozen properties are slated to open in 2025 alone. Among the highly anticipated locations are City Express by Marriott New Orleans Northeast and City Express by Marriott Chicago Downtown, both expected to welcome guests in the second quarter of 2025. Additional openings later in the year will include City Express by Marriott Orlando International Drive and City Express by Marriott Port Hope in Ontario, Canada.
Since acquiring the City Express brand portfolio in 2023, Marriott has steadily strengthened its foothold in the midscale hotel market. With a strong presence in Latin America and now expanding across the U.S. and Canada, the company is diversifying its offerings to attract a broader audience. Marriott has also introduced Four Points Flex by Sheraton in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific, along with StudioRes, an extended-stay brand debuting in North America this year.
