The Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI), the Apex body representing the hospitality industry, is proud to mark its 69th year of service. FHRAI has been at the forefront of promoting tourism and hospitality, aiming to turn India into a three trillion-dollar industry by 2047, in alignment with the Government of India’s vision of making India a developed economy on the 100th year of India’s independence.

Established in 1955, FHRAI represents 60,000 hotels and 500,000 restaurants across India. Over the years, FHRAI has played a vital role for the growth of the tourism and hospitality sector in the country through its multifaceted activities and services including policy advocacy, education and training, research studies, knowledge reports, skill enhancement and capacity building, legal and regulatory advisory etc. Through its path breaking initiatives like the FHRAI Institute of Hospitality Management (FHRAI -IHM) and the Centre of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality (CETH), FHRAI is shaping the future of hospitality education and research in India.

As FHRAI enters its 70th year, it reaffirms its dedication to uphold industry standards, promoting experiential tourism, tourism excellence, sustainable practices and enhancing partnerships. Together, FHRAI and its members will continue to shape a vibrant future for India’s hospitality industry.

The Association’s commitment extends to fostering partnerships and collaborations with like-minded organizations and key stakeholders. MOUs signed with Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, the Indian Plumbing Association (IPA), and CII’s Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) are the latest additions to the long list of collaborative efforts undertaken by the Federation for the growth and development of the Sector. These alliances have strengthened India’s position as a top global travel and hospitality destination.

Pradeep Shetty, President of FHRAI, said, “As we celebrate FHRAI’s 69th anniversary, we commemorate not only a milestone but also a heritage of impeccable hospitality excellence. Our commitment remains firm: to promote tourism and hospitality via transformative experiences that involve cross-cultural interaction and socio-economic growth. The hard work of FHRAI and its respected members has significantly contributed to elevating our country’s status as a symbol of hospitality excellence. We aim to continue this legacy by embracing diversification and sustainability, building a path to a brighter, more diverse future for all”. “On this momentous occasion, we also pay our tribute to the rich legacy line of extraordinary individuals and forefathers who made immense contributions to the growth of the Federation.” he further added.

Looking ahead, FHRAI envisions a future with personalized guest experiences, sustainable practices, and technological advancements driving the hospitality landscape. With dedication and collaboration, FHRAI aims to continue advocating for regulatory reforms and fostering an environment for exponential growth in India’s hospitality sector.
