Goa as a tourist destination should embody both environmental conservation and cultural preservation, said tourism director Suneel Anchipaka. Interactions with industry leaders and tourism stakeholders have strengthened the tourism department’s resolve to ensure that Goa’s tourism sector remains sustainable. From hinterland exploration to spiritual tourism, the pavilion showcased Goa’s sustainable and cultural initiatives, including 11 temples and the upcoming St Francis Xavier Exposition.“Goa as a destination, cherishes both environmental conservation and cultural preservation, and our interactions with industry leaders, travellers, and stakeholders have strengthened our resolve to advance sustainable tourism initiatives. The department’s unwavering commitment incorporates innovative practices that not only enrich the visitor experience but also safeguard Goa’s natural and cultural heritage for future generations,” said the tourism director.
The Goa Tourism delegation included private industry players such as Spice Route Tours and Travels, Yoska (Ironman 70.3) and Sunset Getaways.
Indonesia’s tourism minister Sandiaga Uno held discussions with Goa tourism officials on sustainable tourism practices, cultural tourism and bilateral exchange in the tourism sector
“This exchange of ideas emphasised the importance of international cooperation in advancing sustainable tourism practices and fostering cultural exchange between nations. This exchange led to a mutual dedication to nurturing environmental conservation, advancing cultural appreciation, and elevating the quality of tourism experiences,” said Anchipaka.
The objective of participating in the Arabian Travel Market was to actively involve stakeholders, industry partners, and policy makers in understanding the new trends in the global tourism industry.
