In a significant milestone, easyJet has celebrated the 100th flight in its partnership with Make-A-Wish® International, supporting the travel wishes of children living with critical illnesses across Europe. Since the partnership was formed in August 2024, easyJet has worked tirelessly to make the dreams of children facing life-threatening conditions come true, offering them the chance to experience the joy of travel and create lasting memories with their families. This partnership is not only a testament to the power of giving back but also a reminder of the importance of hope and joy, even in the face of adversity.
A Dream Fulfilled: Ava’s Journey to London’s West End
The 100th flight took place in May 2025, when easyJet flew eight-year-old Ava, who lives with a haematological condition, from Belfast to London Luton. Ava had always dreamed of visiting London’s famous West End to see the musical Wicked—a wish that came to life thanks to the combined efforts of Make-A-Wish® and easyJet. This special journey was more than just a flight; it was a chance for Ava and her family to experience the excitement and wonder of London, giving them a momentary escape from the daily challenges of living with a critical illness.
During the flight, easyJet staff made the experience even more magical by making a special announcement, allowing the children on board to visit the cockpit both on the way to London and on their return. Ava’s mother, Jennifer, shared her excitement, stating, “The flight was good, and everyone was so friendly. It was such a brilliant weekend, and the kids had a ball!”
This simple yet profound gesture, along with the opportunity to see a world-class performance in the heart of London, is a perfect example of how travel can provide a sense of normalcy, happiness, and unforgettable memories to families enduring unimaginable challenges.
Other Magical Journeys
easyJet’s support has also made dreams come true for other children, such as six-year-old Holly, who was diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome, and 12-year-old Zara, who has cystic fibrosis. Holly’s wish was to experience the magic of Lapland UK, a winter wonderland where children can enjoy snow-based activities and meet Santa Claus. With the help of easyJet, Holly flew from Jersey to London and was then able to fulfill her dream.
Zara’s wish, on the other hand, was to see the popular musical SIX in London. easyJet flew her and her family from Belfast to London, where they spent a day experiencing the magic of live theatre. For both children, the trips were more than just vacations—they were an opportunity to escape the realities of illness and embrace the joy of being children.
These experiences have brought immeasurable joy to the children and their families, allowing them to create beautiful memories that will stay with them long after the trips are over. It is a testament to the power of travel and how it can serve as a vehicle for hope, healing, and joy.
easyJet’s Commitment to Granting Wishes
easyJet’s Director of Cabin Services, Michael Brown, expressed the airline’s pride in its role in granting these wishes. He said, “We are incredibly honoured to have been able to help grant the wishes of children like Ava, Holly, and Zara through our partnership with Make-A-Wish. It has been our great privilege for easyJet and our dedicated crew to fly over 100 children and their families across Europe to help play a small part in making their wishes come true.”
This partnership has been a shining example of how businesses can make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals facing adversity. The smiles on the faces of children as they embark on these special journeys show just how much a simple act of kindness can impact lives, offering a respite from the often grueling realities of medical treatments and hospital visits.
The Role of Make-A-Wish® in Transforming Lives
Make-A-Wish® International has been at the heart of these efforts, granting wishes for children with critical illnesses around the world. According to Luciano Manzo, President & CEO of Make-A-Wish® International, “We’re incredibly thankful to easyJet for helping bring joy and adventure to the lives of the children and families we support. For those navigating the challenges of a critical illness, the chance to travel, discover new places, and share meaningful moments with loved ones can be truly transformative.”
Manzo further emphasized how such travel experiences are not just about the destination but the moments of joy, laughter, and connection they bring to families. The ability to create lifelong memories in a safe, supportive environment allows families to bond, heal, and find solace in one another’s company, far removed from the stresses of medical treatments and hospital stays.
Key Destinations and Their Impact
The destinations made possible by easyJet’s flights have included some of Europe’s most iconic locations. Ava’s trip to London’s West End, Holly’s visit to Lapland UK, and Zara’s experience at a London musical are just a few examples of how travel can enrich the lives of those facing challenging circumstances.
- London’s West End: Famous for its world-class theatres, London is a city that has something for everyone. For children like Ava, the opportunity to see a musical like Wicked is a chance to experience a world of creativity, excitement, and awe.
- Lapland UK: A winter wonderland experience that brings the magic of Christmas to life, Lapland UK offers children like Holly the chance to experience snow, meet Santa Claus, and take part in a variety of holiday-themed activities.

Looking Ahead: A Future of Hope and Joy
Looking ahead, easyJet and Make-A-Wish® are committed to continuing their partnership and granting more wishes for children with critical illnesses. Every wish granted brings not only a moment of joy but also a lasting sense of hope, helping children and families focus on the positive experiences that make life so special.
This partnership serves as a reminder of the power of kindness, generosity, and community, and how businesses can play a crucial role in making the world a better place for those who need it most. Through this initiative, easyJet and Make-A-Wish® have shown that no dream is too big when we come together to make wishes come true.
