Delta Air Lines opens first nonstop route linking Salt Lake City (SLC) and Lima, Peru (LIM) as of December 4, 2025. New daily seasonal service, through January 25, 2026, links the U.S. Mountain West directly to South America, offering a new entry point for business and vacation travel.

This is a major expansion of Delta’s international network and a Western United States build-out for the airline. It will mark the first Salt Lake City nonstop to South America, filling a gap in Delta’s route system and offering customers from the state of Utah and the surrounding regions convenient access to Lima. Lima is a popular destination for U.S. visitors, and the new nonstop flight becomes a convenient method of traveling to the capital city of Peru as well as offering connections to other major South American cities.

The plane, a Boeing 767-300ER, is a widebody aircraft that’s comfortable and efficient. Delta offers a number of different ways to seat, depending on the budget and preferences of the traveler, including Delta One lie-flat suites, Delta Premium Select, Comfort+, and Main Cabin. For Delta One passengers, the traveler receives first-class quality with Missoni-designed amenities and a highly curated in-flight experience that emphasizes comfort and luxury.

This new route provides San Francisco, Portland, Denver, and Las Vegas travelers with a convenient connection to Lima. Furthermore, the enhanced Delta-LATAM Airlines partnership provides effortless forward connections to other South American cities, such as São Paulo, Santiago, and Buenos Aires, enabling travelers to continue their journey efficiently and with ease.

Salt Lake City International Airport is ideally suited to handle our new route with a comfortable, modern travel experience. Concourse A boasts 50 Delta-branded gates, and the traveler can relax in a 28,000-square-foot Delta Sky Club with unrivaled views of the airport. A second Sky Club, opening later this year, will be situated in Concourse B, enriching the airport premium product for the traveler further.

In Lima, guests arrive into the recently upgraded Jorge Chávez International Airport, which boasts a new terminal building designed to maximize passenger flow and international connections. The refit serves to allow for increasing traffic as well as provide a smoother transfer for guests flying through to other south American cities.

This new route introduction mirrors the rising global connectivity of the state of Utah as well as the emerging importance as a travel hub. In addition to the promotion of tourism and a cultural exchange, the new flight facilitates broadened business activity between the United States and South America. Due to the new route, the economic growth can be encouraged as well as the relationship between the Mountain West and the rapidly developing economies of South America intensified.

The new service also solidifies Salt Lake City as a significant Delta hub, with nonstops to four continents. Delta now links Salt Lake City to 30 cities on the continent of South America, further confirming the airport as a world crossroads for international guests.

Delta’s new nonstop flight from Salt Lake City to Lima significantly simplifies international travel for Western U.S. residents. Offering direct access to South America, this service eliminates the need for layovers, saving both time and effort for travelers. Whether for business, tourism, or cultural exploration, the flight offers an efficient and convenient travel experience, opening up opportunities for individuals to engage with South America’s vibrant destinations with ease.

This new route is an attractive option for those seeking comfort and flexibility in their travel plans. With a variety of seating options, including premium services like Delta One and Delta Premium Select, passengers can choose the level of luxury that suits their needs. Whether you’re heading to Lima for business meetings or a vacation, or you’re looking to experience the cultural richness of Peru, Delta’s nonstop service provides a seamless and comfortable travel solution.
