Exciting Rainforest Exhibit Launching Soon at Daytona Aquarium & Rainforest Adventure
This summer marks the debut of the highly awaited rainforest exhibit at Daytona’s inaugural aquarium attraction. Spanning a variety of exotic species, the Rainforest will showcase mammals and colorful birds like sloths, toucans, otters, and tamarins. The aquarium, which covers 55,000 square feet and opened last year, boasts over 50 unique exhibits, including a massive 110,000-gallon shark tank and a popular 10,000-gallon stingray touch pool. Updates on the Rainforest’s grand opening will be shared on the aquarium’s official website and social media channels.
Fresh Exhibits at the Museum of Arts & Sciences
The Smithsonian-affiliated Museum of Arts & Sciences (MOAS), a sprawling 100,000-square-foot cultural hub for art, science, and history, is introducing two new exhibits. The “Shoosty Bugs” exhibit highlights the diverse artworks of Stephen Shooster, an artist and writer whose pieces delve into themes such as music, landscapes, and conceptual ideas. Meanwhile, at the Cici & Hyatt Brown Museum of Art on the MOAS campus, the “It’s a Ship Show” exhibition invites visitors on a visual journey through Florida’s rich maritime past. Both shows will remain open until January 4, 2026.
Veterans Memorial Plaza Now Open Downtown
Situated at the northwest corner of the Tom Staed Veterans Memorial Bridge, the newly opened Veterans Memorial Plaza offers a solemn place for both locals and visitors to honor the Courageous service members who gave their lives defending liberty are honored here. Key features include flags symbolizing all six branches of the U.S. Flags representing the Armed Forces, a memorial honoring World War I veterans, and a six-foot flame monument engraved with the names of Volusia County’s fallen heroes.
Marine Science Center Renovation Nears Completion
Located in Ponce Inlet, the Marine Science Center is undergoing a \$4.2 million overhaul to introduce new marine life exhibits and expand spaces dedicated to education and research. The enhanced facility is set to welcome visitors again starting June 23.
NASCAR Returns with Coke Zero Sugar 400
Following a one-year pause, the exciting NASCAR regular-season finale makes its comeback with the Coke Zero Sugar 400 set to take place on the evening of Saturday, August 23. This 400-mile, 160-lap showdown will serve as the last chance for drivers to clinch their place in the 10-race NASCAR Cup Series championship playoff.
Upgraded Access and Iconic Beach Sign Reopen
The beach entrance at International Speedway Boulevard and A1A, home to the famous “World’s Most Famous Beach” sign, has reopened following a ramp improvement project. The new three-lane ramp is designed to ease traffic flow and elevate visitors’ beach arrival experience. Nearby, Sam’s Coal Fired Pizza, a beloved local eatery, has also resumed operations after closing during the construction.
Jackie Robinson Ballpark Enhancements
Baseball fans attending Daytona Tortugas games at Jackie Robinson Ballpark will notice exciting upgrades to the historic stadium where Jackie Robinson broke barriers in 1946 by participating in the first integrated MLB spring training game. The ongoing multi-million dollar renovation project has introduced new seating for 1,300 fans, an upgraded sound system, a newly installed batter’s eye in center field, and refurbished foul poles—all ready for this season’s play.
Introducing Ambros Daytona, the New Boutique Hotel
Spring saw the opening of Ambros Daytona, a boutique lifestyle hotel located in Daytona Beach Shores. Featuring 50 rooms with a variety of configurations including single king, double queen, and suites, this independent hotel offers a laid-back yet refined atmosphere. About half the rooms come equipped with kitchenettes, catering to families, couples, and solo travelers alike.
