Every year, ICEHOTEL in the north of Sweden, is reborn, created by creative individuals from around the world. Do you dream of creating an art suite made of ice and snow? Now is your chance to apply for the international design competition, with the deadline on April 21, 2025.

ICEHOTEL is more than just a hotel – it is an ever changing art project made from snow and ice from the Torne River. Every year, the hotel takes on a completely new shape. What design ideas, would you like to see at ICEHOTEL? Thought-provoking, innovative, creative, or beautiful – there are no rules for how the art suites should look. The only requirement is that it must be your original design, include a bed – and of course, be created from ice and snow.

A Unique Art Concept
ICEHOTEL is not only an artistic achievement but also a tribute to nature and the Torne River – one of the last untouched rivers in Sweden. Here, artists create something extraordinary while visitors experience a unique artistic world built from the beauty of ice.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing the ideas that will shape the 36th edition of ICEHOTEL, a project so close to my heart. I’m sure they will be unexpected, challenging, and unique,” says Luca Roncoroni, Creative Director of ICEHOTEL.

Over the years, many award-winning designers and artists have contributed to this entirely unique art project, including Swedish designers Bernadotte & Kylberg, and design duo Kauppi & Kauppi, both of whom have received numerous international design awards, including the prestigious Red Dot Award. , as well as the French designers Nicolas Triboulot & Fernand Manzi, who daily work with the design of crystal vases in Paris.

Ice Art on Nature’s Terms
The creation of the hotel is an international art forum where selected artists gather in Jukkasjärvi at the end of November for two intense weeks of creation, using ice and snow as the canvas for their art. Each art suite is an original installation that melts and returns to nature when spring arrives.

“This morning, I walked along the river and was amazed to think that I was standing on next year’s ICEHOTEL. Soon we’ll begin harvesting the ice for ICEHOTEL 36, and I’m excited to see the creative contributions from talented artists worldwide,” says Marie Herrey, CEO of ICEHOTEL.
