The airBaltic Pilot Academy, a leading institution under Latvia’s national airline, is proud to announce the arrival of its 26th group of aspiring pilots. A fresh batch of 15 students has embarked on their journey to earn their commercial pilot licenses through the airline’s intensive full-time Airline Transport Pilot program.
Martin Gauss, CEO and President of airBaltic: “We are pleased to welcome the newest students to the airBaltic Pilot Academy, whose dedication reflects the growing demand for skilled aviation professionals. As we continue to expand, our commitment to top-tier training remains strong, now further reinforced by our second Airbus A220 simulator, ensuring the highest standards of safety and operational excellence. With each new group, we take another step toward shaping the next generation of pilots who will support airBaltic’s growth and the future of aviation.”
The diverse new class includes students from a wide array of countries including Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Portugal, Romania, and Sweden, highlighting the academy’s international appeal and its status as a global hub for aviation education.
Currently, the academy is home to 163 active students, many of whom hail from the Baltic nations, with others coming from across the European Union. The school continues to foster an inclusive environment, with more than 10% of its student body being female. To date, 131 graduates of the program have gone on to join airBaltic, contributing to the airline’s dynamic and ever-expanding team of pilots.
As part of its commitment to providing world-class training, airBaltic has recently bolstered its educational resources by installing its second Airbus A220 full-flight simulator. This cutting-edge simulator will play a crucial role in enhancing pilot training, allowing the academy to accommodate the growing number of students while maintaining high training standards. The simulator also supports airBaltic’s ongoing fleet expansion, ensuring that pilots are well-prepared to operate the latest aircraft in the airline’s growing fleet.
With this continued growth, the airBaltic Pilot Academy remains at the forefront of aviation education, nurturing the next generation of pilots and preparing them for successful careers in the aviation industry.
