Vietjet plans to launch two new nonstop flight services connecting Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital, with the major Chinese cities of Chengdu and Xi’an. These routes are scheduled to begin on July 1st and July 6th, 2025, respectively, each providing four round-trip flights per week. This development marks a significant boost to Vietjet’s expanding network between Vietnam and China, offering travelers more convenient options for travel between the two nations.
With these launches, Vietjet’s portfolio of direct Vietnam-China connections rises to seven routes unveiled in the first half of 2025 alone. This rapid network growth highlights the airline’s strategy to strengthen international travel corridors and meet rising passenger demand. For travelers originating in Singapore and neighboring countries, these routes offer convenient and budget-friendly access to China via Vietnam’s key hubs in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
The new Hanoi–Chengdu and Hanoi–Xi’an flights complement Vietjet’s earlier introductions this year, which linked Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to major Chinese cities such as Beijing, Guangzhou, and Shanghai. Chengdu and Xi’an are important economic and cultural centers located in western China that have experienced significant development in recent years. These direct flights will facilitate easier travel and trade between Vietnam and these growing Chinese regions, supporting tourism and business cooperation.
In addition to expanding within China, Vietjet is also broadening its regional reach. A direct service between Singapore and the Vietnamese island of Phu Quoc is scheduled to begin on May thirtieth. Earlier in 2025, the airline launched new routes connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Indian metropolitan areas Hyderabad and Bengaluru, alongside services to Japan’s Nagoya and Fukuoka. These additions demonstrate Vietjet’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and providing travelers with diverse, accessible flight options throughout Asia.
Travelers can enjoy Vietjet’s state-of-the-art aircraft, engineered for eco-friendly performance while ensuring a smooth and comfortable journey. The airline highlights authentic Vietnamese hospitality, providing passengers with a consistently enjoyable and hassle-free flight experience.
Chengdu, as the capital of Sichuan Province, serves as a major hub for commerce, culture, and tourism in southwestern China. It is internationally recognized for its distinctive cuisine, historical sites, and conservation centers for giant pandas. Xi’an, the capital of Shaanxi Province, is a historic city famed for its archaeological treasures including the Terracotta Army and its role as the Silk Road’s eastern terminus. The new direct flights will encourage greater cultural exchange, business development, and tourism growth between Vietnam and these influential Chinese cities.
Each route operates four weekly round trips, giving passengers flexible scheduling options. Departures from Hanoi take place in the late evening, which conveniently aligns with domestic flight schedules within Vietnam and facilitates onward travel connections.
