Qantas is reinforcing its long-standing commitment to regional Australia by offering $2 million in regional grants for Australian-based not-for-profit community groups and projects benefiting regional areas in 2025.

In its fourth year, the Qantas Regional Grants program is set to allocate $10 million over five years, with $2 million available each year. The grants will offer financial, flight, and marketing support, tailored to the specific needs of each organization and project.

Since its inception in 2019, the program has supported over 80 community groups, funding initiatives in health and wellbeing, sport and recreation, children and family, and education.

In 2024, 28 regional community groups received grants to fund vital projects, including:

  • BlazeAid (VIC, WA, SA, TAS, NSW, QLD): This initiative helps rural communities recover after natural disasters by rebuilding fences and structures damaged by fires, floods, cyclones, and droughts. The grant funded remote internet access to improve communication among volunteers and enhanced camp facilities.
  • Reading Out of Poverty (VIC, NSW, QLD): Focused on promoting literacy, this program provides resources and services to families and children aged 0-5 from low socio-economic backgrounds, including migrants, refugees, and Indigenous communities. The grant supported the expansion of the program to reach 15,000 new regional families.
  • GP Lyf Hacks (SA): This program offers free health education to remote health workers and patients, especially in towns without regular access to doctors or local training. The funding enabled health forums in regional areas to ensure quality healthcare for Australians, no matter their location.

QantasLink CEO Rachel Yangoyan said that as the national carrier, Qantas is committed to giving back to the Australian communities.

“Across our regional operation we fly more than 8.5 million people around the country each year, playing a vital role in maintaining connectivity for communities, supporting business, tourism and facilitating access to health services,” said Ms Yangoyan.

“Through our grants program we’re able to take our support further, providing valuable funding to hard working organisations delivering high impact projects that enhance the lives of people in regional communities.

“We see a huge number of quality applications each year and I encourage all regional community organisations to apply, including those who may have been unsuccessful last year.

“There are so many people and organisations doing incredible work. We’ll be looking for applications driving positive initiatives and innovation in the regions and that demonstrate measurable impact for the community.”
