The Chanakya Mall in Lutyens’ Delhi is a premium retail and dining destination for highly evolved customers including people from the diplomatic circle. Among the dining options from the DLF Hospitality portfolio, MKT, the international diner, is a sought-after destination for connoisseurs who enjoy an immersive gourmet journey.
After being in circulation for the last six years, DLF Hospitality has given the food offerings at MKT a complete facelift. The restaurant has introduced a completely new menu recently as part of the “celebration of a new culinary milestone” in the organisation, as the promoters put it.
The new menu at the MKT, according to chef Dharmen Makawana, corporate chef at DLF Hospitality, uses innovative techniques to create modern cuisine that stays true to its origin while adding a few “surprise elements” to the customers.
For chef Rinki Saha, executive sous chef at MKT, who played a key role in designing the new menu, what they have accomplished is a “testament to how contemporary international cuisine can be both authentic and at the same time exciting.”
Although it was a difficult decision and the road to the new menu was a “challenging one” considering the loyal customer base the restaurant has created over the years, Saha says that they worked hard to “capture global trends” both in terms of tastes and flavours and at the same time the emerging dietary needs of vegan and gluten-free options.
