International Women’s Day was celebrated on the pink theme in collaboration with HCG Abdul Razzaq Ansari Cancer Hospital at Hotel Management Institute Ranchi. On this occasion, the chief guests were Mr. Pratik Jain, Business Head, Dr. Bhupesh Kumar, Principal, Dr. Ranveer Singh Rana and Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Surgical Oncologist, Mr. Vikas Kumar Singh, Marketing Head, Mr. Manoranjan Kumar, Brand and Communication Head, Mrs. Shubhlata Sharma. The program started with lighting of lamps by the chief guests and Ganesh Vandana presented by the students.
Dr. Bhupesh Kumar greeted the attendees and praised the cooperation of HCG Cancer Hospital for organizing this program successfully. Along with this, he saluted the spirit of the brave women who have won over cancer and praised their never-say-die spirit. Thereafter, while greeting all the participants in the culinary and mocktail competition organized for the students of the institute, he added that the thought of winning is more important than winning itself. He also inspired the students to learn from cancer survivors how impossible tasks can be won with passion and told them to never give up, be a warrior.
Mr. Pratik Jain praised IHM Ranchi for the program organized in honor of women. He also told everyone that if you are troubled by any kind of challenge in life, then you need to learn from these cancer survivors. While motivating the students, he told them that hard work is the best option for success and even the biggest challenge can be defeated with hard work.
Cancer warriors Dr. Sushmita Pandey and Mrs. Shilpi Sinha expressed their gratitude to everyone and told about their detailed story of how they defeated cancer.
During this program, Pink Feast competition was organized for the students of IHM Ranchi. In this competition, a first year student of B.S.C course Sumit Kumar was declared winner of Mocktail in Bakery, a second year student of B.S.C course Aradhya Jena bagged were as Mahi Tomar stood second in bakery competition .Vicky Kumar Sinha bagged in Kitchen were as Ayushi Shrestha Mehta won second prize. Along with this, Mr. Vineet Sinha, Senior Lecturer gave a presentation on a activities of what IHM Ranchi is, the employment oriented courses being run in the institute and the excellent placements performance of the institute .
The ceremony was concluded with vote of thanks by the senior lecturer of the institute, Mr. Dhirendra Tiu. also appreciated the important contribution of the teachers, staff and students of the institute in making this event success. All the teachers, staff and students of the institute were also present in this Mahila Samman ceremony. The women present praised the hospitality of IHM Ranchi and said that it is better than the hospitality of any five star hotel while relishing the delicious meal at the restaurant of IHM Ranchi.
