Houston’s hotel dining scene is getting a new, exciting addition with Remi, the elegant new restaurant at the Hotel Granduca. Replacing Alba, the restaurant brings a modern yet refined European dining experience, paired with the warmth and hospitality that Texas is known for. Hotel Granduca, a luxurious landmark in the heart of Uptown Park since 2006, has recently completed an extensive renovation, enhancing its timeless Italian villa-inspired design. The revamped spaces include an updated lobby, a freshened bar area, an inviting patio and pool, as well as the introduction of a spacious library. And at the heart of this transformation is Remi, which brings a touch of European sophistication to the hotel’s elegant ambiance.
The collaboration between Transwestern Hospitality Group, which took ownership of the hotel last year, and Episcope Hospitality has brought this new dining venture to life. The restaurant’s kitchen is led by an experienced chef with years of culinary expertise, particularly in the luxury hotel industry. Remi’s seasonally driven menu showcases fresh, high-quality ingredients sourced locally, while still remaining approachable. For a hotel restaurant, Remi offers a remarkably accessible pricing structure, proving that fine dining doesn’t always come with an exorbitant price tag. Starters and salads range from $14 to $18, while main dishes start at $20, including the Chef’s Meatball – a hearty combination of veal, beef, and sausage, served with spicy pomodoro, garlic flatbread, and fresh Parmigiano.
For those looking to indulge in lighter fare, the bar menu features a mix of playful and elevated bites, such as truffle popcorn, corn dog poppers, and a sophisticated twist on crispy potatoes topped with caviar. Other tempting choices include buffalo chicken dip, crispy Roman artichokes with roasted garlic aioli, and classics like steak tartare and shrimp cocktail. Guests can also enjoy Italian comfort food with dishes like Spianata pizza, with tomato sauce, stracciatella, spicy Calabrian salami, and more, or the rich rigatoni Bolognese, made with Wagyu beef, pancetta, and pecorino. Remi is open daily from 7 to 11 a.m. for breakfast, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for lunch, and 5 to 11 p.m. for dinner.
