Houston’s hotel dining scene is getting a new, exciting addition with Remi, the elegant new restaurant at the Hotel Granduca. Replacing Alba, the restaurant brings a modern yet refined European dining experience, paired with the warmth and hospitality that Texas is known for. Opened in mid-March, Remi effortlessly combines upscale culinary techniques with an inviting atmosphere, making it a must-visit for both locals and travelers.

Hotel Granduca, a luxurious landmark in the heart of Uptown Park since 2006, has recently completed an extensive renovation, enhancing its timeless Italian villa-inspired design. The revamped spaces include an updated lobby, a freshened bar area, an inviting patio and pool, as well as the introduction of a spacious library. And at the heart of this transformation is Remi, which brings a touch of European sophistication to the hotel’s elegant ambiance.

The collaboration between Transwestern Hospitality Group, which took ownership of the hotel last year, and Episcope Hospitality has brought this new dining venture to life. The restaurant’s kitchen is led by an experienced chef with years of culinary expertise, particularly in the luxury hotel industry. Remi’s seasonally driven menu showcases fresh, high-quality ingredients sourced locally, while still remaining approachable. For a hotel restaurant, Remi offers a remarkably accessible pricing structure, proving that fine dining doesn’t always come with an exorbitant price tag. Starters and salads range from $14 to $18, while main dishes start at $20, including the Chef’s Meatball – a hearty combination of veal, beef, and sausage, served with spicy pomodoro, garlic flatbread, and fresh Parmigiano.

For those looking to indulge in lighter fare, the bar menu features a mix of playful and elevated bites, such as truffle popcorn, corn dog poppers, and a sophisticated twist on crispy potatoes topped with caviar. Other tempting choices include buffalo chicken dip, crispy Roman artichokes with roasted garlic aioli, and classics like steak tartare and shrimp cocktail. Guests can also enjoy Italian comfort food with dishes like Spianata pizza, with tomato sauce, stracciatella, spicy Calabrian salami, and more, or the rich rigatoni Bolognese, made with Wagyu beef, pancetta, and pecorino. The Ōra King Salmon, served with charred broccolini and romesco, as well as the Remi Burger with cheddar, Dijonnaise, and pickles, stand out as delightful main course options. For steak lovers, dishes like steak frites with au poivre sauce, filet mignon with whipped truffle butter, and a 14-ounce dry-aged ribeye are sure to please.

Remi’s design captures the essence of warmth and sophistication, offering a refined yet approachable dining experience. The interior features rich burnt orange hues and gold accents, with a striking photograph by a renowned artist, offering a modern take on The Last Supper, as its focal point. The bar area adds to the ambiance with a range of classic cocktails, including Manhattans and Old Fashioneds, as well as a curated selection of martinis and fine Tequila and bourbon. Remi’s carefully chosen wine list offers a range of European wines, available by the glass or bottle.

For those who enjoy dining outdoors, Remi’s spacious courtyard patio offers a serene setting, while the six event spaces available within the restaurant make it an ideal venue for private functions and celebrations.

Remi is open daily from 7 to 11 a.m. for breakfast, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for lunch, and 5 to 11 p.m. for dinner. With the hotel’s recent renovations and the debut of this exceptional new dining spot, now is the perfect time to visit. To celebrate the reopening, guests who book by March 31, 2025, for stays through April 30, 2025, will receive a $100 food and beverage credit at Remi, complimentary daily breakfast for two, a special welcome amenity, and exclusive perks like early check-in, late check-out, and room upgrades based on availability. Reservations for dining and accommodations can be made directly on the hotel’s website.
