Cunard partners with Sail4th 250 to offer travelers exclusive access to America’s 250th anniversary celebrations, with Queen Mary 2 at the heart of the event.
Cunard has unveiled a partnership with Sail4th 250, the nonprofit organization overseeing the Port of New York and New Jersey’s commemorations for America’s 250th anniversary in 2026. This collaboration places Cunard’s flagship, Queen Mary 2, at the heart of the celebration, offering guests an exclusive vantage point on this momentous event.
This alliance underscores Cunard’s deep-rooted connections to the United States and its rich maritime legacy. For more than 185 years, Cunard vessels have been pioneers in transatlantic travel, and in 2026, Queen Mary 2 will continue that tradition in New York Harbor.
ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION DETAILS
The six-day event marking America’s monumental anniversary will feature the largest-ever international gathering of tall ships and naval vessels. Ships from 17 countries will participate, with the U.S. Navy inviting additional vessels to join the parade. Over 30 tall ships are expected to make an appearance.
The festivities will include open festivals that provide the public with access to the tall ships, a grand fireworks display, and an exhibition showcasing 18th-century historical documents. Organizers estimate that up to 10 million spectators will gather along the 15-mile New York/New Jersey waterfront to witness the spectacular parade of ships and naval vessels on July 4.
Scheduled from July 3 to July 8, 2026, the celebration will culminate with a military flyover and a breathtaking fireworks show over the Manhattan skyline. From her prime position, Queen Mary 2 will offer guests front-row views of this unparalleled maritime event, enhancing the celebration’s historic atmosphere.
Cunard’s Independence Day Spectacular Voyage, running from July 3-10, 2026, will give passengers the chance to be part of this historic moment. Following the New York festivities, Queen Mary 2 will set sail for Newport, Rhode Island, and Halifax, Nova Scotia, allowing guests to explore two of North America’s most picturesque historic ports.
Prices for the voyage start at $2,350 per person for a Britannia Balcony stateroom, based on double occupancy.
