American Airlines is set to significantly ramp up its international operations for the upcoming Northern Winter 2025–2026 season, introducing additional capacity on six major long-haul routes.
The expanded schedule will run from October 26, 2025, through March 28, 2026, according to aviation data reports, and is expected to further strengthen the airline’s global connectivity and meet growing demand for transatlantic, transpacific, and South American travel.
Operating one of the world’s most extensive airline networks, American Airlines serves 356 destinations globally, including 227 domestic and 129 international locations across 61 countries. A core member of the Oneworld alliance, the airline continues to play a major role in global air transport and connectivity.
Key Route Increases and Service Extensions:
- Miami to Buenos Aires:
From December 18, 2025, American Airlines will add a fourth daily flight on the popular U.S.–Argentina route, significantly boosting capacity between South Florida and Buenos Aires. This move supports strong demand for business and leisure travel between North and South America. - Dallas to São Paulo:
Beginning December 3, 2025, weekly service between Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and São Paulo (GRU) will increase from seven to ten flights, enhancing access to Brazil’s financial hub. - Dallas to Dublin:
The airline’s seasonal service between Dallas and Dublin, initially scheduled to end in October, will now extend through early January 2026, supporting increased transatlantic demand during the holiday season. - Philadelphia to Athens:
American Airlines will extend service on its Philadelphia–Athens route until November 18, pushing beyond the typical seasonal end in October to cater to late autumn travelers exploring Greece. - Dallas to Kona (Hawaii):
Service to the Hawaiian island of Kona will resume on November 20, using a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. This reinstates a long-haul U.S. domestic route previously paused in 2022 and initially planned for a December 2024 relaunch. - Los Angeles to Auckland:
On December 3, American will upgrade the aircraft on this transpacific route from the Boeing 787-8 to the larger Boeing 777-200ER, increasing passenger capacity on flights between California and New Zealand.
Additionally, the airline confirmed its Summer 2025 European schedule will include over 70 daily flights to 17 major European cities, including Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, London, Frankfurt, Zurich, Milan, and Nice—cementing American Airlines as a key player in U.S.–Europe air travel.
